27th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME October is the Month of the Most Holy Rosary and we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary on Thursday, 7th October. Today we celebrate the feast day of Saint Mother Theodora Guerin, founder of the Sisters of Providence of St Mary of the Woods, Indiana, USA. She was recognised as a saint by Pope Benedict XVI in 2006. Saint Theodora left her native Brittany in 1840 to found numerous schools and to care for the orphans, the sick and the poor in the dense forests of Indiana.
